Let’s talk about
Superbills
Navigating the reimbursement process with your health insurance provider.
What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a detailed invoice that includes all the necessary information your health insurance company needs to potentially reimburse you for out-of-network services. This document lists the services you received, the dates of those services, the cost, diagnosis codes, and our practice information.
How Does a Superbill Relate to Insurance?
As an out-of-network provider, we do not directly bill insurance companies. A superbill allows you to submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement. It’s a bridge between the services you pay for out-of-pocket and the potential for your insurance company to reimburse you according to your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Impact on Your Deductible
Your insurance deductible is the amount you’re required to pay out-of-pocket for healthcare services before your insurance starts to cover costs. Submitting a superbill to your insurance can help meet this deductible.
What Happens After Meeting Your Deductible?
Once your deductible is met, your insurance may cover a portion of your healthcare costs at the out-of-network rate specified in your plan. The reimbursement rate and how much your insurance will pay depend on your specific policy terms.
Our Superbill Process
Superbills will be automatically created on the 1st day of each month for all sessions that occurred in the previous month. This document will be emailed directly to you, ensuring you have all the necessary information to submit a claim to your insurance company.
